Summer Hair & Scalp Care for Sensitive Skin: The Rahu Care Routine

Summer is hard on scalps. Sun, chlorine, salt water and sweat all reach the same spot, and if yours is already sensitive or reactive, a few pool days can undo months of careful care. Here is the Rahu Care routine for getting through summer without losing that balance.

Why summer is harder on your scalp than you think

UV exposure oxidises the proteins in your hair shaft, so strands come out drier and more prone to breakage. Chlorine and salt water strip natural oils and throw off your scalp's pH and microbiome, the same balance every Rahu Care formula is built to protect. Add sweat, sunscreen residue and washing more often than usual, and the scalp barrier that normally keeps eczema, psoriasis and general sensitivity calm gets worn down right when you're outside enjoying it the least.

Protect before you swim or sunbathe

Apply PRE-WASH Scalp & Hair Oil to your scalp and lengths 15 to 20 minutes before swimming or a day in direct sun. It sits on the hair as a light barrier, so less chlorine, salt and UV reach the scalp underneath. Same pre-wash step we recommend before any harsh treatment, just moved earlier in the day for pool season.

Wash less

Daily washing "because sweat" is usually the opposite of what a reactive scalp needs in summer.
